Pumpkin Hand Scrub

If you are as keen on the natural world as I am then I am sure you have spent a lot of time during the previous months in the garden? Gardening along with home making can take its toll on your hands, so whilst carving out your pumpkin this Halloween let’s consider our wellbeing! It should be such a shame to throw away the flesh of your carved Pumpkin, and why not pamper yourself with your very own hand blended hand scrub !Here is one of my Allumi garden kitchen beauty recipes, and you probably already have these ingredients so there’s little cost involved – you could even share this with your friends and family!

(Always pay attention to any sensitivities you may have and patch test your pumpkin recipe before use just to be sure.

Pumpkin is a very powerful skin exfoliant hence its great for hard working hands along with the beautiful cleansing properties of sea salt and the healing and antiseptic benefits of honey.

Pumpkin Hand Scrub Recipe

Ensure your hands and surfaces are clean, then In a large bowl combine 4 table spoons of the seedless flesh you have carved from your pumpkin lantern with 2 tablespoons of fine sea salt, add a teaspoon of honey and mix to a paste.

1. Take to the sink and massage into the hands for 3-4 mins.
2. Rinse thoroughly and dry hands.
3. Apply hand cream.

This natural recipe is just as effective for your feet, so why not refrigerate the remainder in a sealed container and massage into your feet before bedtime following the same instructions as above. As these are fresh ingredients, please use on the same day as making, and discard any excess in a responsible way.
This is not suitable for children.

We hope you enjoy our recipe – always sharing with love and blessings – Ally and Allumi Team…xxxx

Step into September

Autumn leaves swirling around the country lanes and pavements of our streets, one thing is for sure we realize that as the trees change the colour of their leaves, and shed their coats, it’s a sure reminder that cosy nights in take over from summer barbeques and garden parties!

Rosehip Syrup Recipe

Have you noticed that the roses are now producing rose hips? Each year I collect mine from the Allumi garden and make my own rosehip syrup, it’s full of vitamin C to ward off illness and support us in stressful situations, Also a great boost for the skin.
